Coverage.
Before contacting insured or insured's driver, determine if there are any questions of coverage. |

Liability. Determining fault in an accident may include a number of steps including interviews, obtaining reports, physical investigation and accident reconstruction. For serious accidents, use the "Detailed Investigation" tools.

Damages. Analyzing injury damages may include obtaining medical charts, reports of treating physicians, independent medical examination, and occupational disability reports. Physical damage appraisals of adverse vehicles and other property should be itemized and broken into costs for labor, material and added charges. |

Analysis and Evaluation. Begin this process with checking local law. If at-fault rules apply, determine percentages of fault. Both the value of the injury and residuals should be estimated. |
